Root Canal Therapy

What Is a Root Canal?

A root canal is a common procedure that removes infected or inflamed pulp inside a tooth, cleans and disinfects it, then seals it. This treatment saves the natural tooth, relieves pain, and prevents reinfection. Millions of teeth are successfully treated this way every year.

How the Procedure Works

The pulp inside your tooth contains nerves and blood vessels, but a tooth can survive without it. Modern root canals are similar to routine fillings and usually require one or two appointments. Local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, or oral sedation ensures comfort.

Recovery & Aftercare

After treatment, records are sent to your restorative dentist to place a permanent cover. Rarely, pain may occur months or years later—if it does, contact us immediately. Continue good dental hygiene to prevent decay.

Success & Cost

Root canal treatment has about a 90% success rate. Costs vary per patient but are often less than replacing a lost tooth with a bridge or implant. Contact us with questions about pricing.
